We’re Jason and Jennifer, a married team who met online long before it was cool.

After years of seeing how hard it is to move from app chat to real connection, we created Secret RSVP—so people could meet in person, without the pressure, and feel the spark again.

How We Met Online (Before It Was Cool)

We were two people on opposite sides of the world, navigating early online dating. The algorithm didn’t think we were a match. Real life did. That experience—of chemistry showing up in person, not on a screen—shaped everything we’ve built since.

There is something on my mind

There is something on my mind as I try to tell you more about us. Can I be honest with you for just awhile? 

I have always wondered how the people who own some of the most famous dating sites or singles events companies are themselves single. That is quite intriguing to me. If they are single, how would they be able to give you the best advice on how to meet your special someone, how to attract potential mates, how to impress the opposite gender, how to understand the warning signs of dating, how to stay in a healthy relationship, or how to find love that lasts? I mean, if you want trustworthy advice about your health, wouldn’t you go to an experienced doctor? If you need help with your finances, wouldn’t you consult a financial planner? Seeking true love from a single person is like getting financial advice from someone who’s broke. I have nothing against single persons of course. And there is nothing wrong with being single! I’m just saying that if you are at a stage of life where you are ready to find your special someone, go with someone who knows the terrain and walks the talk.

Now that I’m being truly honest, let me tell you about us. At the time of writing this, Jason and I have been wonderfully married for 24 years. You know how there is a saying that “time flies when you are having fun”? That’s exactly what our 24 years have been like. Of course we have had ups and downs. We have had great times, and a few not-so-great times. But throughout all these years, we have experienced life together, grown together, suffered together, and built ambitions together. We are constantly discovering more about ourselves and each other, and we are often challenged to be the kind of person we’d want to be with. This is the kind of relationship with a special someone I always wanted when I was single, and I am very thankful that we found each other.

By the way, when I say “we found each other”, I am not exaggerating because we actually met online through an online dating site… halfway across the world. One night, many years ago, after multiple failed attempts with finding love online and offline, I was close to giving up. And then I stumbled upon an online dating site, and stumbled upon Jason’s profile, and that is how it all started.

So there – we both know about the frustrations of online dating and how to distinguish the players from the keepers (spoiler alert: I even wrote a book about that). We also know from personal experience that online chemistry does not always translate in-person. It doesn’t just arise from initial physical attraction, sharing common interests, or being matched by some algorithm. Chemistry is a complex connection that can only be sparked from meeting face-to-face (this is how we design Secret RSVP™ events). Side note: the online dating site we met on compared our profile data with a low compatibility score – pretty low odds for a happily married couple of close to 20 years with kids!

Anyway, back to what I was saying about us. Having had the privilege of experiencing authentic love in a healthy relationship, we are inspired to help singles find the same long-lasting type of love – the type of love where you can be yourself and love with your authentic self. Why? Simply because we care. And we know firsthand that life with a special someone can be so wonderful and fulfilling. The truth is, the world can be a lonely place. Strangely, considering how technologically-connected we are, we have never before felt more disconnected. 

In 2013, we launched Secret RSVP™ with a passion to help singles connect back in the real world. Since then, we have refined the Secret RSVP™ patented live-matching system that aims to bring a safe and pressure-free experience for singles to find authentic connections. So far, we have been so blessed and absolutely motivated by the difference we are making in the lives of those who come to our events and discover authentic connections!
